Scarecrow Costume for Mom + a Little Pumpkin: An Easy Mom and Son Halloween Costume

Every October I tell myself I'll plan a real costume early, and every October I end up digging through my closet on the 30th. This year I went lazy on purpose. Most of this scarecrow is regular fall clothes I'll keep wearing to the pumpkin patch, and the only true costume pieces are a burlap hat kit and my son's pumpkin suit. He also gets to carry the candy basket, which he considers the most important job of the night.

Tie a red bandana at the neck (this cotton 4-pack, about $13) and pull on brown lace-up boots (about $36). A little eyeliner for freckles and a stitched smile, and you're done.
